Terms of use
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Aidan Kelly, who runs the D8 dating app ("D8", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using D8, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use D8.
1. Who can use D8
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You may only have one account, and it must be for you.
- You must not use D8 if you have been banned from it, or if you have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence.
2. Your account
- Your profile, including your photos, name, age and bio, must be accurate and show you.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by following the steps on our delete account page.
3. Rules for using D8
You must not:
- Harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone.
- Post or send anything hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit or illegal.
- Send unsolicited sexual messages or images.
- Pretend to be someone else, or use photos that aren't of you.
- Ask for money, gift cards or financial details, or promote any product, service or scheme.
- Offer or seek sexual services.
- Share another person's private information without their permission.
- Give false D8 Verified reviews or false no-show reports.
- Use D8 if you are under 18, or try to contact anyone under 18.
- Try to get around blocks, our content filter, our security, or the app's limits.
- Copy, scrape or misuse other people's information or photos.
4. Safety, reporting and moderation
- You can block, unmatch or report anyone at any time. Reporting someone also blocks them.
- Our content filter blocks some words and phrases and flags others for review.
- We review reports and flagged content, and aim to act on reports within 24 hours. We may remove content, end matches, or suspend or ban accounts that break these terms, with or without notice.
- If you are in danger, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number first.
5. Meeting people
D8 helps people meet, but we don't run criminal record or identity checks on users, and we can't guarantee how anyone will behave. Always meet in a public place, tell a friend your plans, and read the safety tips in the app. You are responsible for your own interactions with other users.
6. D8 Verified reviews and no-shows
- After both people confirm a date happened, each can rate the other. Reviews are anonymous and shown only as combined percentages.
- If a date is marked as a no-show, the other person is asked for a reason, which is shared with you.
- Reviews and no-show reports must be honest. We may remove reviews or reports that are false or abusive.
7. Your content
You own the photos, text and messages you add to D8. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and process this content only to run D8. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content kept for safety reasons as explained in our privacy policy. You must have the right to share everything you upload.
8. Our service
- D8 is currently free to use.
- We may change, pause or stop features, or the whole service, and will try to give notice of major changes.
- We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use D8 means you accept the updated terms.
9. Liability
We provide D8 with reasonable care and skill, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, on or off D8. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Ending your use of D8
You can stop using D8 and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your account if you break these terms or if we reasonably need to protect other users.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring claims in your local courts.
